Created by Double Fine's lead animator, Tasha Harris, the game follows the adventure of a group of young friends who must rid their neighborhood of monsters using only their wits, their bravery, and their home-made costumes. Players go door-to-door collecting candy, points, cards, battle stamps and quest assignments as they prepare themselves for Combat Mode — where they transform into larger-than-life versions of their costumes. Each costume that comes to life provides its own unique set of superpowers that players will need to battle Halloween's worst monsters.","145312/costume-quest-cover.jpg","145312/costume-quest-header.jpg","https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJcVECLkHvg","2010-10-19",72,5637,"costume-quest",null,[19,24,27,30,33
"Double Fine Productions",true,false
"THQ
"The Adventure Company
"Nordic Games Publishing
"Humble Bundle",[37,38,39],"Role-playing (RPG)","Turn-based strategy (TBS)","Adventure",[41,42,43],"PC (Microsoft Windows)","PlayStation 3","Xbox 360",[45,61,76,91,105
69580
4761,"Nathan Meunier
69,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/IGN-logo.jpg","IGN","https://www.ign.com/","10","Creativity-infused cartoon combat blends perfectly with trick-or-treating nostalgia to give this humorous little download some tremendous pull. Costume Quest’s bold personality and utter charm mostly makes up for its more repetitive moments, and when you throw in the re-tooled save system and free DLC, the PC version is an alluring package. If your tastes lean more towards lighthearted fare instead of overt gore splatter, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better pick than this endearing Halloween-themed RPG.","https://www.ign.com/articles/2011/11/01/costume-quest-review","2011-11-01","8",80
48290
4078,"Sammy Barker
63,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/Push-Square-Logo.jpg","Push Square","https://www.pushsquare.com/","Burned by the saleability of their retail releases, Double Fine's unique, quirky concepts feel right at home on the PlayStation Store. I’d say it doesn’t take more than 6-8 hours to beat the game even to 100%. The game is simple, the quests are simple and sometimes similar, the combat is simple, and due to this it can get boring after a while, however the lenght of the game is just good enough so that it doesn’t outlast its welcome. By the time I started getting bored with it, I found myself at the last boss. This coupled with the game’s charm, and its humour, which is often made for older audiences as well with it’s ironic and sarcastic jokes make it just fun enough to warrant a playthrough and keep it entertaining. The game’s music and sound effects are also quite fitting for the game’s Halloween theme, though there is no voice acting, be it for better or worse. Sadly though, the game doesn’t offer much, if any, replayability. I don’t see myself playing through it again anytime soon.","https://monstervine.com/2010/10/costume-quest-review/","2010-10-29","3",60,5,0,[26,29,32,35],[21],[]]
