Though Japanese players ended up getting two 8-bit sequels to this game before their Famicom stepped aside for its Super upgrade, this is the only NES era Final Fantasy game that ever made it to us in the U.S. Its appeal, then, was never diminished in its own generation here -- it was never surpassed on its home hardware. And that intact appeal and lasting value for American gamers is more than enough reason to recommend owning it again now, for 500 Wii Points. And why this re-release may well sell tons again, even after the availability of this first Fantasy's many different remakes over the years.","https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/10/05/final-fantasy-review","2009-10-05","8.5",85
28041
2872,"Kevin VanOrd
28,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/GameSpot-Logo.jpg","GameSpot","https://www.gamespot.com","The umpteenth remake of Final Fantasy I is pretty to look at, but the gameplay is showing its age.","https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/final-fantasy-anniversary-edition-review/1900-6173084/","2007-06-25","6.5",65
30234
3167,"Mitch Vogel
34,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/NintendoLife-Logo.jpg","Nintendo Life","https://www.nintendolife.com/","Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is the kind of game that will unfortunately only appeal to a relatively limited demographic. Enjoyable co-op chaos with your friends is the main draw here, but the lack of same screen or even local Switch multiplayer substantially hobbles that appeal. Couple that with simplistic gameplay that fails to provide you with much of a hook to stay with it long term, and you’re left with a rather middling experience that doesn’t do much to incite strong feelings one way or another. Newly remastered graphics and extra content certainly sweeten the deal, but we’d advise you take a good look at why you’re interested in this game before jumping in. If you intend on mostly playing solo, we’d firmly advise you to pass and instead look to the litany of other excellent solo RPGs on the Switch, many of which are in the Final Fantasy series. If you intend on getting a new multiplayer game to play with your mates, we’d give this a light recommendation and encourage you to evaluate how much playtime you really think this will offer. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is far from being the worst co-op focused game on the Switch, but it’s far from the best, too, leaving it somewhere in the middle of the pack.","https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/switch-eshop/final_fantasy_crystal_chronicles_remastered_edition","2020-08-26","6",60
81747
6557,"Simon Chun
44,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/RPGSite%20Logo.jpg","RPGSite","https://www.rpgsite.net/","Choose your job and embark on a boring adventure","https://rpgsite.net/review/4725-final-fantasy-explorers-review","2016-02-04","5",50
90601
7693,"David Flynn
130,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/GamingTrend-Logo.jpg","GamingTrend","https://gamingtrend.com","100","While the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters aren’t perfect, they’re certainly the best and most convenient ways to play these classic games.
