Red Fly Studio obviously put a lot of heart into the game, and while the concepts, script, engine, graphical efforts, depth, RPG elements, and humor all work great, there are still a lot of issues holding the game back. This title lacks polish and refinement though, and it comes into play when trying to blast ghosts on a very full, almost claustrophobic bottom screen, random pop-in ghosts that knock the whole team down for seconds at a time, some rough driving sections with unforgiving collision that stops you dead in your tracks, and some annoying invisible wall areas in on-foot missions that keep the team from running around the room with ease. With that being said, I was always having fun while playing Ghostbusters, and while some of it is fan service for sure – blaring the Ecto-1 siren while hearing the Ghostbusters theme is essential, and included – there are also a huge list of great ideas and designs that make Ghostbusters feel fresh and entertaining despite some touchy gameplay. If we see a sequel for any of the games – or a quick re-up sequel set on Wii and DS… seems to make sense given the audience – I’ll be more than happy to dive right back into this world. I said it earlier as well, but it deems repeating: If Red Fly took this engine and delivered an original IP off of it (Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon-inspired would work perfectly) it could be killer. The concepts, overall design, and multi-character system works great. It’s just a bit too rough all-around for this first Ghostbusters endeavor.","https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/06/22/ghostbusters-the-video-game-ds-review","2009-06-22","6.5",65
48369
4078,"Sammy Barker
63,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/Push-Square-Logo.jpg","Push Square","https://www.pushsquare.com/","Whilst we were initially concerned, playing as the fifth Ghostbuster gives you a snapshot view of the interaction between the team and turns out to be an inspired design choice.","https://www.pushsquare.com/reviews/ps3/ghostbusters_the_video_game","2009-06-12","7",70
61385
4961,"GameCentral
61,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/GameCentral-Logo.jpg","Metro GameCentral","https://metro.co.uk/entertainment/gaming/","Whatever controversy there might be about the movie, there can be little argument that this spiritless cash-in is one of the worst video games of 2016.","https://metro.co.uk/2016/07/19/ghostbusters-video-game-review-bustin-makes-you-feel-bad-6015008/","2016-07-19","2",20
94334
8054,"Richard Walker
133,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/GameWatcher-Logo.jpeg","GameWatcher","https://gamewatcher.com","Recapturing the look and atmosphere of the movies to perfection, it’s impossible not to be completely endeared by Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
