The player takes the role of a US soldier, part of the allied force fighting against outnumbering Chinese forces vying for control of the island.

The game centers on a campaign narrative that gives the player a variety of roles in the allied forces ranging from a Marine Infantry, tank commander, Special Forces and helicopter captain. The game has an incredible realistic depiction of war with careful attention to the detail of the weapons, equipment and tactics of the armed forces. The action is varied from intense fire fights through to slower pace tactical decision making on how to best tackle the mission objectives.","187800/operation-flashpoint-dragon-rising-cover.jpg","187800/operation-flashpoint-dragon-rising-header.jpg","https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD5PLVTZEmo","2009-10-06",null,451,"operation-flashpoint-dragon-rising",[18,23
"Codemasters",false,true
"Codemasters Southam",[27,28,29,30,31],"Shooter","Puzzle","Simulator","Strategy","Tactical",[33,34,35],"PC (Microsoft Windows)","PlayStation 3","Xbox 360",[37,53,68,83,97
70600
4946,"Erik Brudvig
69,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/IGN-logo.jpg","IGN","https://www.ign.com/","10","Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is something you don't see every day on consoles, and its uniqueness does offer a breath of fresh air amidst the myriad twitch and sci-fi shooters out there. This is one of the more realistic war games you'll find on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, with a sense of tension built out of life or death situations rather than over-the-top action. I had fun with Dragon Rising, despite the fact that it consistently showed a lack of polish through weak artificial intelligence, middle of the road presentation, and its fair share of bugs.","https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/10/08/operation-flashpoint-dragon-rising-review","2009-10-08","7.8",78
48345
4078,"Sammy Barker
63,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/Push-Square-Logo.jpg","Push Square","https://www.pushsquare.com/","As a thoroughly realistic military shooter, it achieves everything it sets out to achieve. Some argue that they are created to provide fun times, whilst others argue they are created as an art form, or even to engage an emotional response. Operation Flashpoint falls somewhere in the grey area. A realistic shooter by trade, Codemasters’ latest addition to the popular franchise makes its way to consoles for the first time and it’s about to rape you... I mean seriously rape you.
