I cannot describe how much I loved the dialogue in Shadowrun: Hong Kong. From Is0bel’s standoffish demeanour to Kindly Cheng’s evil but soothing tone, every conversation felt visceral, grounded in the world. The way the dialogue is presented paints a picture of every scene in the player’s head, thanks to its descriptive nature as well as the amazing character portraits that accompany the conversations. Compounding on this is the etiquette system, which gives unique dialogue options depending on the situation. For example, choosing the socialite etiquette gives unique options in social spaces. Unique dialogue options are also unlocked if certain karmic requirements are met (having level five in decking for example).","https://www.gamespew.com/2015/08/shadowrun-hong-kong-review/","2015-08-31","9/10",90
49368
4168,"Alec Meer
64,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/Rock-Paper-Shotgun-Logo.jpg","Rock Paper Shotgun","https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/","unscored","If you've been round the neon block a few times already, then Hong Kong's going to feel pretty familiar, despite being perfectly solid and having a few new toys plus a wider, more ostentatious stage than ever before. I did not encounter any of them, and none seemed to be widespread. Thus, what do we get when we draw the line? We get more Shadowrun and that is far from being a bad thing. What’s new is found mainly in the rather significant Matrix overhaul, the possibility to initiate combat whenever you feel like it and the atmosphere in Heoi. Apart from that, those returning will be met with a lot of familiarity; the good kind of familiarity. The kind that emanates from the result of a recipe that worked in the past and still has life in it, thanks to its ingredients. Thus, unless you were expecting something entirely different from the series, it’s irrelevant whether you’re a new or an old player. Shadowrun: Hong Kong is definitely worth grabbing and playing through at least once as it lies on the higher spectrum of available cyberpunk RPGs.","https://www.noobfeed.com/reviews/shadowrun-hong-kong","82",82
84356
6585,"Alex Fuller
65,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/RPGamer-Logo.jpg","RPGamer","https://rpgamer.com/","5","Shadowrun: Hong Kong offers a steady evolution of Harebrained Schemes' Shadowrun experience.
