Just like its predecessors, Downpour combines exploring abandoned surroundings, talking to characters, and solving puzzles, set against a slow, psychological horror theme. Different from the previous game Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is the return of combat. The player often has to fight off monsters using a variety of weapons, but he can carry only one melee and one ranged weapon who can deteriorate over time. Entirely new to the series is the introduction of a weather system: there is a full day and night cycle and rain often warns the player of danger that is approaching. It is possible to hide until the weather becomes better again.","187775/silent-hill-downpour-cover.jpg","187775/silent-hill-downpour-header.jpg","https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj1xwO6lBGY","2012-03-13",null,487,"silent-hill-downpour",[18,23
"Konami",false,true
"Vatra Games",[27],"Adventure",[29,30],"PlayStation 3","Xbox 360",[32,48,63,77,93
69786
4775,"Steven Hopper
69,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/IGN-logo.jpg","IGN","https://www.ign.com/","10","The most frustrating thing about Silent Hill Downpour isn’t the lousy combat, dull exploration, or even the technical gaffes. It’s the fact that every now and then while playing through the game’s story, you’ll see signs of brilliance; sunlight hinted from behind the overcast sky. From the Otherworld sequences to the interesting protagonist as well as the way the very town itself is molded to Murphy’s past all make for a game that could’ve really been something special for the series. However, all of the aforementioned issues play their role in making Downpour an unfun, disappointing experience.","https://www.ign.com/articles/2012/03/12/silent-hill-downpour-review","2012-03-12","4.5",45
60298
4896,"GR Staff
80,"https://cdn.criticdb.com/storage/v1/object/public/avatars/Outlets/Game-Rant-Logo.png","Game Rant","https://gamerant.com/","Silent Hill Downpour is, in essence, a haunting and engrossing game, but one that's ultimately brought down by its technical faults. The game would be much easier to recommend if the framerate issues weren't scarier than the monsters, but it's still worth checking out. When all is said is done, Vatra have stumbled onto something special, and with them at the helm, the franchise should have a bright future.
