While the game is quite a slow burn, it helps set up the story for the second episode, which I am eagerly awaiting. There's a lot of unanswered questions, and I'm excited to see where this supernatural tale will end.
Overall, Indika is a fun experience if you separate the horror genre tag on Steam from it. It feels more like a dark comedy than anything else, and there aren’t really that many other video games with a tone even remotely similar. That being said, it feels as if it lacks polish, and AI art is a glaring issue, especially with the looming threat of it in the art sector at the moment.
Finally, it is worth noting, that there is an additional triggering scene at the end where Giulia then ‘kills’ herself, by slitting her wrists. The developers added an option on PC where you can censor this sequence. I was relieved to have this option, however, like enforced edits on Playstation, I do think that the option should be available to censor the rest of the scenes should you need to, if you want the experience that game without having to be deeply upset.
