A few years ago, Humble Bundle had a hand in releasing one of my all time favourite independent games, Slay The Spire, a deck building, roguelike turn-based game where you climb a tower to destroy its heart. This year, the company is at it again with the release of a brand new roguelike featuring card elements: One Step From Eden, developed by a single person, Thomas Moon Kang. Thankfully, the sim...
One Step From Eden masterfully brings a mix of action RPG and deckbuilding that we haven't seen in a good while.
One Step From Eden is a fantastic rogue-like deck-building game that is a few small tweaks away from perfection.
One Step from Eden is an impressive feat of card-battling rogue-likes. It's visually gorgeous and features strategic gameplay through its library of spells. This Mega-Man/Slay the Spire mashup provides an exhilarating challenge that's constantly evolving. It's a title with great replayability during a time when we may need it the most. It's also another great addition to the couch-coop list with i...

With how disappointed I am in the final product, it’s still hard to call One Step From Eden a bad game. The boss fights are memorable, it has an appropriately fast-paced soundtrack, and for brief moments it can feel like a complete, cohesive experience. However, the roguelite elements are just not implemented well enough to make each run feel fresh, and actively work against the decent core battle...
