Both basketball and hockey season are behind us and now we look forward to the summer and Formula One. I’m an avid listener of the Bill Burr podcast every Monday he’d break down the race for a casual fan of F1. As I listen to this podcast from week to week my interest in F1 grew. Why does Lewis Hamilton win so much? How has Mercedes won every freaking race so far this season? More importantly, do simulation F1 video games hold up to their real life counterparts?
It’s the year 207X A.D. and corporations rule Glitch City. A city that shouldn’t exist. A tax haven where corporations and criminal empires reign supreme. Word is the mayor of Glitch City is just a puppet ruler with no real power, having been set up by Zaibatsu Corp. to avert attention from whatever underhanded dealings they have at the moment. But this review isn’t about that. VA-11 Hall-A (pronounced Valhalla) is a visual novel mixed with a bartending simulator. Initially released in North America in 2017 on the PlayStation Vita, VA-11 Hall-A transports you to a cyberpunk world with a cast of unforgettable characters, great storytelling, and a chill experience. You play as Jill who is a bartender at VA-11 Hall-A who always tried to give her best effort at work. She talks with her clients and is always nice even with the most annoying people. She always starts her job saying “Time to mix drinks and change lives.”
It’s been two days since my camping trip to a nearby island ended. I expected a welcoming party when I got to Yttervik, but everyone is gone. Cars have been abandoned on the road. Food was left on the kitchen table and front doors are wide open. After searching an abandoned police car, I found a gun in the trunk. Luckily, I made it to the church in Iboholmen after an encounter with odd robots. Surprisingly, the pistol from the cop car was effective against them. A note was left in the church saying that everyone has gone to Salthamn a mile up the road. I hope everyone is okay.
