While it may not be a masterclass of the genre, The First Berserker: Khazan is a thrill that improves the more you play. It has unique mechanics that differentiate it from other soulslikes, while never losing sight of what it sets out to be. While the story may not be the most entrancing, there's certainly enough there to compel players to get to the end, no matter how many controllers or keyboards lost their lives in the process.
Two Point Museum is a dense game in more ways than one. There’s plenty to do to modify your museum, and the game introduces your options at a pace that makes the whole game feel approachable. Many simulator games either shoehorn you into success or give you so much freedom that you don't know where to start, making them predictable or confusing, respectively. In this case, Two Point Studios has found the perfect balance.
From almost every perspective, Jusant is absolutely breathtaking. From the graphics to the music to the story, I found myself captivated from every angle. There's so much to see that I spent copious amounts of time running around and exploring corners just to see what was going on, and all the while being uplifted by soft, calming and peaceful music as I made my climb. The story for Jusant is entirely based around what you uncover from the world around you as you learn more and more about how people's lifestyles had to shift as a result of the "Jusant" - a receding tide.
I really did forget just how much I love cars until playing the new Forza Motorsport, and that's exactly what the developers intended. The game works hard to make you feel the cars that you're driving, focusing on the sound and how the performance translates to your controller. Something about the precision and power behind these machines makes them feel tangible through the screen, and Turn 10 masterfully showed them another level of respect.
