Battle Worlds: Kronos Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Battle Worlds: Kronos is a game all about tactical unit distribution and the art of patience and preparation. Unfortunately, I have neither the art of preparation nor the virtue of patience. If you do have the aptitude required for a classic unit-based strategy game though, then definitely give Battle Worlds: Kronos a go. It’s certainly not for everyone, but it’s a well-polished package that has plenty to offer for fans of old school turn-based strategy.
There is a story in Battle Worlds: Kronos, but it’s nothing to write home about. There may be two full-blown campaigns, CG cutscenes, and interactions with officers on the field, but these feel superficial. What’s more, they have the same ham-fisted dialog and cheesy cinematics made famous by Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2. Thies, but it’s hard to take a sweeping tale of intergalactic war seriously when multicolored tanks and talking heads rule the land.
As a huge strategy fan, I was very excited at the idea of a meaty turn-based strategy game on the Switch. On paper it certainly seemed attractive, with both a hefty multiplayer (though hot-seat only) and the 60+ hour single-player campaign. In implementation however, Battle Worlds: Kronos may have the hardcore strategy gameplay down, but fails to deliver on almost anything else.
Battle Worlds Kronos is okay. While perfectly functional there just isn't much fun to be had with it.
Puts Cigar in Mouth I love it when a place comes together.
