Castlevania Dominus Collection is quite possibly the best compilation that Konami and M2 have produced to date. It presents three exceptional DS games that easily stand the test of time and provide just as much enjoyment now as they did back in the 2000s. Not only that, but the impossible has seemingly been achieved with the remarkable addition of Haunted Castle Revisited. Included as a fun little bonus, this revamped take on a reviled arcade curio is fantastic, and while it can't compete with the very best 'classic' games in the franchise, it's the closest we've gotten to a brand new Castleva...

Castlevania Dominus Collection is not only a great collection of games, but also an impressive technical feat of bringing games designed for Nintendo DS hardware to modern platforms. Haunted Castle Revisited isn't the main attraction of this collection, but it's a standout surprise. A collection of some of the best metroidvanias in one package, this is a definite recommendation to both fans and newcomers. Though some minor issues hamper it a bit, they are severely outnumbered by the good.

As a long-time fan, I'd pay the price of admission for Haunted Castle Revisited alone. The fact that players also get three of the best metroidvanias ever released is just too good a deal to pass.

The Castlevania Dominus Collection is another fantastic effort from M2, though it doesn’t quite reach their lofty standard. The games themselves are a ton of fun, looking and playing great with some amazing convenience features. However, some of these features come up a bit short, specifically controller binding and display configurations. Even so, a full reimagining of an arcade game makes up for those shortcomings for the most part.

Konami, once again, you’ve decided to grace us with a shockingly amazing collection of classic titles from out of nowhere. Castlevania Dominus Collection is a surprisingly competent collection of the franchise’s Nintendo DS legacy with the added surprise of a worthwhile arcade remake. This game is a tremendous value thanks to three meaty single-player adventures but it certainly has room for improvement.
