A unique rhythm based shoot-em-up game with a killer heavy metal soundtrack, detailed pixel characters and environments with tons of personality.
Double Kick Heroes is a great little game for fans of bashing their buttons and keys along with fast-paced heavy metal, and the zombie aesthetic feels well handled. I like how you’re able to adjust the game a bit to make for a more enjoyable experience that you can handle, and I’d hope to see more guest bands joining to fold in Hellgate. It’s a game that does sometimes feel unforgiving and you sho...
Trying to concentrate on this many variables is next to impossible, rhythm games work because of their simplicity, which is vital when trying to keep a player’s concentration in difficult scenarios. In games like Crypt of The Necrodancer bosses clearly telegraph weaknesses, whilst, Thumper, another rhythm game with lots of intricate movements, uses a limited colour palette and repetitive motions t...
Double Kick Heroes is a good game, even a great game if you’re a metalhead. The artwork portrays a varied post-apocalyptic wasteland as you race across the world battling all sorts of enemies with the power of metal. The soundtrack holds its own and is worth a listen even outside the game. If you like metal or zombies in any way you will thoroughly enjoy this game and the unique combination of the...

I can’t live off playing Rock Band 4 forever, so I love when a little title like Deemo Reborn or AVICII Invector shows up. They add a little twist and a different take on the rhythm formula, which can easily be learned by anyone who has played other games in harder difficulties. After I’ve heard about...
Verdict: Double Kick Heroes is a retro-style rhythm game by Headbang Club. With a simplistic art style and the only audio being music, the primary focus is on gameplay and the story themselves. Fans of titles such as the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series are sure to find something to love about it. If you loved either series, then this is definitely a title worth checking out. It’s also great for a...
