Mia and the Dragon Princess Reviews

Professional reviews from gaming critics

Is Mia and the Dragon Princess our favourite FMV game from Wales Interactive and Good Gate Media? Perhaps not, but that’s not to say we didn’t enjoy our time with it. Its story might be ridiculous, but with plenty of action – and a surprising amount of cheesy gore – it kept us highly entertained from start to finish. It’s just a shame that the choices you make can leave you with a half-baked experience that doesn’t truly represent what this story should be.

Mia and the Dragon Princess doesn’t really stand out amongst the crowd of interactive films; I doubt I’ll remember it in the same way as I remember The Complex, for example. Mia and the Dragon Princess is worth a look if you are a fan of this type of game.  Impressive acting talent is present although they are in full-on ‘hamming it up’ mode, the fight scenes are well choreographed and there are a few killer lines of dialogue.  If the idea of a children’s TV drama mixed with a brutal British gangster film appeals to you, this could be a dream come true.

Mia and the Dragon Princess starts with an interesting premise and supports it with great action scenes. Multiple story routes add potential replay value as you figure out how you unlock all of the scenes. However, it’s easy to miss certain story routes. The game is decent, but the flaws start to appear on repeat playthroughs.
