While the tactical options are more limited when playing solo, Minecraft Legends is a blast to play. Pick it up if you are a Minecraft fan or if you just want to have fun playing a chill game with a friend.
Minecraft Legends isn't going to rewrite the book on action strategy games. However, it offers compelling gameplay backed by mechanics from the main game that rewards exploration and ingenuity, on top of having an easy control set-up.
No matter how you choose to play, Minecraft Legends is a cinematic and engaging experience that can be equally enjoyed by avid Minecraft players or those looking to appreciate the iconic blocky world and its beloved characters for the first time.
Outside the lack of personalization, there are also a handful of smaller grievances. You have access to four different mounts in the game, but only the tiger and beetle are worth using in most situations due to their superior speed and wall climbing, respectively. This is a welcome introduction to the strategy g...
Minecraft Legends has a lot of good ideas, but the combat mechanics aren't suited for actively engaging in the act of war.
Too shallow for players looking for a challenge and too complicated for younger players, creativity is mostly absent in this spin-off. Minecraft Legends may retain some of its original blocky charm, but the fun aspect was lost somewhere along the way, being replaced by repetitive gameplay and frustrating unit control woes.
Two years following the release of Minecraft Dungeons, the Minecraft universe is expanding once again with Minecraft Legends. Minecraft Legends features some common traits with the original Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons, while still carving out a unique experience of its own. You’ll explore, create, and survive in this open-world action-strategy adventure. Will Minecraft Legends take Minecraft to new heights, or was this a poorly conceived experiment?
Real-time strategy games are a tricky genre for new players due to their complexity. And that makes it a perfect genre for Minecraft to tackle.
This legend leaves out Minecraft's spirit of invention and creativity.
