Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
My only complaint about Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road is that there isn’t more of it, and for under $10, they have already provided dozens of hours of content. Addictive and replayable, with a killer soundtrack to go with it!
Monsters are Coming! Rock and Road is your next new Survivors obsession, with a clever tower defence twist and that “just one more run" hook.
A unique take on the Survivors-like genre that also throws in city building and tower defence mechanics, Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road is a moreish roguelike that will have you repeatedly coming back for more.
With the Barbarians knocking at the gates, I’m sure that the Romans despaired at their lack of foresight in not building their great cities on wheels. Had they done that? Well, they could just roll off into the distance and away from those that menaced them. That’s pretty much the plan in Monsters Are Coming! Rock and Road, with the world beset by hordes of shadowy creatures and the distant promise of sanctuary at the Arch.
Monsters Are Coming! Rock and Road is hitting Xbox Game Pass for PC as the latest rogue-lite to hit the service. The selling point on this one is resource gathering! That’s right, you’ve got a mobile city trying to get to a safe destination, and your hero will chop wood and gather stones as it automatically wheels its way down the screen. It’s a fun concept with just enough content to keep things feeling fresh before they get too dull.
