That said, none of that makes up for the excessively floaty controls, bad camera that makes everything harder than it should be, completely disconnected story elements, and overall feeling of frustration that overtook any fun I could have had playing this. Project Nimbus: Complete Edition doesn’t break any new ground, and it likely won’t keep you playing for too long, either. But what it does offer is some incredibly fun, fast-paced combat with a varied set of mechs to pilot, and an enjoyable but corny plot like something out of a mid-tier anime.

That all said, if you are a fan of mechs, and want to blast off into combat then Project Nimbus: Complete Edition has some great mech combat. It feels like a cross between Gundam and Ace Combat and shooting up the skies in a battle frame is incredibly satisfying. At around $19.99, you could do far worse than loading up Warfronts and taking some pot shots at another giant robot. Project Nimbus: Complete Edition is out now for Nintendo Switch. There are few things as fun as a mech game done well. Flying through the sky taking on countless enemies, nimbly dodging streams of missiles while responding with your own, and slicing any enemy mech that gets too close in half with an impractically large energy sword.
