I hope by now it is clear that The Stillness of the Wind is not a traditionally “fun” game – it doesn’t have the compulsion or reward of something like Stardew Valley. That being said, I would still recommend giving it a chance: Memory of God has created a poignant experience featuring a character type that is rarely explored in the medium. The game’s esoteric story and tedious mechanics might look bad on the surface, but they contribute effectively to the game’s unique tone – and the ending is sure to be something you’ll remember for a long time.
Only fiddly controls and minor pacing issues mar a melancholic and affecting story, simply and refreshingly told.

The Stillness of the Wind is a small indie title developed by Australian Coyan Cardenas. Cardenas has been working on the game as the solo developer for over two years and the newly released game is a follow-up to its critically acclaimed predecessor ‘Where the Goats Are’. The final version of The Stillness of the Wind was released on the 7th of February 2019 and is now available on PC and Nintendo Switch. It’s published by Australian indie games label Fellow Traveller.
