Professional reviews from gaming critics
A four-year solo project, HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon pairs timeline-based turn combat with brutal build freedom and hand-drawn comic art, plus a few rough edges that survived launch day.
HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon is an interesting little title.
For a game made by a solo developer, HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon is impressive and outright inspiring. Small problems persist, but overall the game features incredible art, a strong narrative and setting, and turn-based RPG combat that is not only incredibly fun, but also has more exciting to use and uniquely designed abilities than you’d find in a lot of games in the genre.
Solo developer Ars Goetia has brought a sequel to the dark fantasy RPG, with combat in the style of classic dungeon crawlers, but with practical improvements.
