Duskfade Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Duskfade delivers excellent 3D platforming, expansive levels, traversal upgrades, boss fights, and plenty of collectibles in a strong PS2-style throwback.
Overall, Duskfade is a captivating and visually impressive action-adventure that I honestly had a great time playing. It takes familiar ideas and puts them into a world that feels distinct enough to stand on its own. If you enjoy 3D platforming, exploration, fast-paced combat, and beautifully crafted worlds, I’d definitely recommend trying Duskfade.
Follow Zirian and her companion Cuco as they race against time, passing through distinct phases and facing monstrosities to save her sister.
Duskfade is Weird Beluga's attempt at making a fun, light-hearted adventure families can enjoy together. Here's how well it manages.
Does Duskfade recapture the magic of the era, or will it remain trapped in the shadow of the classics that inspired it?
Duskfade is an action platformer that feels straight out of the PS2 library, with a gorgeous world to explore and loads of skills to unlock.
While Duskfade definitely harkens back to the early 2000s action platformers that defined my own and many others' childhoods, it does a solid job of fitting in with some of the stronger games of the genre we've seen in recent years, with fluid movement and stunning environments to explore. It may not stick the landing perfectly every time, but it hits more often than it misses. If you're looking for a new 3D platformer to play, this'll scratch the itch.
Duskfade harks back to classic 3D platformers in ways that we rarely see these days.
Duskfade is a love-letter to the classic PS2 Action Platformers, but inconsistencies in movement hampers the experience. However, it's an enjoyable Steam Deck experience.
Does Duskfade herald a resurgence of the classic platformer with something new in a genre of pretenders, or has its clock run out of time?
