Darksiders has a slow start but once it gets started it doesn't stop. It's got great pacing and the story carries itself well. There's a decent amount of unlockables and the game clocks in at about 14 hours. While the game may be a little easy and the graphics not up to what we saw at the end of last year with some other top tier games they can hold their own pretty well. Darksiders is one of the first games of this year that I'd be willing to label as a must purchase for anyone that is the least bit interested.
Assassin's Creed II is one of the few games this year that absolutely blew me away. The gameplay and story worked perfectly in keeping me engrossed in the world and it's characters. While the beginning was a bit slow once the game picked up it never stopped going. Assassin's Creed II is an absolute must buy and is probably one of the best games released this year.
However Torchlight still remains to be an excellent game and something that absolutely can not be missed especially for all the Diablo fans waiting for the next installment. Torchlight is an extremely addicting and well made loot game. With mod support, infinite dungeons and three highly customizable classes this is a game that is sure to last you for a long time to come. And at $20...why would you pass it up?
Borderlands is another big surprise, but still manages to surprise positively with a fluid and functional gameplay and with an evolution system highly engaging and addictive. Want to play alone or with others, there is a lot to do and whether you are FPS or RPG fan, or both, then you shouldn't miss one of the most addictive and rewarding games of 2009.
Imagine for a second a game that has a storyline similar to that of Tomb Raider and gameplay that is like Gears of War. Meet Naughty Dog’s Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. A game which is filled with exciting set pieces, real cinematic scope and some of the most breathtaking visuals you’ll see for a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
