Wanderstop has officially pulled me into the cozy game genre and is a beautifully moving game which realistically portrays the long and difficult journey of burnout recovery, while also being as hilarious as you would expect from the creator of The Stanley Parable.
While The Haunting of Joni Evers could have done without the haunting, it tells a touching tale of a woman reconnecting with her estranged family. This is a game that walking sim fans will enjoy.
While the storyline doesn't quite hit the same as its predecessor which is amplified by the longer gameplay length, The Rise of the Golden Idol still has very engaging gameplay and puzzles. I'm happy to say that I was hooked once again.
Don’t let your worst moment define you. But what if your worst moment has doomed your whole crew? This is the situation we are faced with at the beginning of Wrong Organ’s psychological horror game, Mouthwashing, after Captain Curly attempts to end his life by purposely crashing the The Tulpur, a Pony Express Long-Haul Space Freighter. His attempt was unsuccessful.
The Casting of Frank Stone starts off well with an interesting premise and slow build so we can get to know its characters. Unfortunately it spends too much time on this that it forgets about the payoff.
While INDIKA is otherwise a unique, compelling and well-designed narrative puzzle game, its abrupt ending left a sour taste in my mouth. This tale of a nun's journey of self discovery is memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Harold Halibut is stunning with its stop motion-style graphics. It tells a wholesome story with hilarious moments and loveable characters. That being said, its pacing and gameplay issues did tarnish my ten hour playtime experience.
The original 1992 Alone in the Dark, developed by Infogrames, is considered to be the first ever survival horror game. While I haven’t played the 1992 original, I have played many of the games inspired by its creation, including the Resident Evil series which I’m a big fan of, with the Resident Evil 2 remake being one of my favourite games of all time. Thirty-two years after the release of the original, Alone in the Dark has been remade by Pieces Interactive, bringing the investigation of Jeremy Hartwood’s disappearance to life with modern graphics built on the Unreal Engine 4 and with performances from award-winning actors Jodie Comer and David Harbour.
The Thaumaturge is the perfect example of a game full of creative ideas, built on an interesting foundation, which is ultimately ruined by very poor execution.
Fans of House Flipper will inevitably love House Flipper 2 as it vastly improves on nearly every mechanic of its predecessor. Creating a more immersive and satisfying experience with better visuals and more room for creativity.
