Life is Strange: Before the Storm

That story stops in a beautiful place at Episode One’s end: a cliffhanger that makes me want Episode Two, stat. I’m a little nervous about having to deal with more of Chloe’s pop-punk-esque “I’m not OK” pontificating. But based on what I’ve seen from Before the Storm’s premiere, I’m willing to tough it out alongside her, and Rachel, and the rest of Arcadia Bay.

In some ways, that disappointed me. I was first drawn to the Zero Escape games because of their inventive puzzle design, something that suffers in Zero Time Dilemma. But I've loved following these characters the most over the past six years, and this concluding chapter serves them well. Zero Time Dilemma, above all else, is a finale that should please anyone looking for a great story — even if the gameplay gets lost in the background as a result.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
Unscored

That humorous core — buoyed by the Digivolution mechanic and memorable characters — is the game's best feature, and one that always comes as a surprise. The jokes make traversing that dungeon for the umpteenth time a little less taxing, and elevate the game from standard creature battler to a memorable adventure. Cyber Sleuth varies wildly from dreadful stopgap fetch quests to mesmerizing bosses and character developments, but its heart remains constant.
