Graphical caveats aside, Sniper Elite: Resistance is fun to play not only because of the various game modes but how you can approach missions. The developers also devoted significant effort to ballistics and weapons handling. Veteran players will feel right at home. New players will be delighted with the variety of missions. Both will be delighted with the options of how they can play them.

Balatro is the clever marriage of card deck building and poker from developer Localthunk. Obviously, poker has the allure of high stakes strategy, luck, and competition and deck building has a similar draw that lasts past a current hand.

Way back in 1975 there was a science fiction movie, that postulated a world run by corporations, where the major outlet for violence lay in a violently modified and deadly game of roller derby, called Rollerball. Aesthetically, Rollerdrome takes 1970s artistic inspiration from that movie and comic book artist Moebius from the Heavy Metal magazine. This gives the game a look and feel that makes it stand out from other games.

Amnesia: Rebirth is a sequel to Frictional Games’ Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Sandwiched in between these two games was their 2015 game, SOMA, a modern SF tale set in an underwater lab. Dark Descent was a survival horror game where the protagonist was mostly powerless while SOMA was a more heavily narrative driven drama. Amnesia: Rebirth finds itself somewhere between these two games in providing players with a new experience.
