Tropico has always felt like a fantastic city builder that doesn’t get as much recognition as it deserves. So, for the review of its sixth iteration, I want to gloss over whether fans of the series should get it right off the bat. The answer is yes to y’all. If you’re like me and you’ve played every single one and adore this series: Yes, definitely get this one. Tropico 6 improves upon things you probably never considered needed improving as well as those you probably did think needed improving.

A studio best known for Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls has been working on this game for, like, five years. The same studio that gave us press X to Jason. Why, yes, I am skeptical towards Quantic Dream games, why do you ask?
Feudal Chinese warfare is back and with a whole new look to boot. Gone are the streamlined levels; Omega Force has taken notes from massive AAA series like Assassin’s Creed and The Witcher. There’s a sentence I never thought I’d write. However, with Dynasty Warriors 9 changing up the series in such an over-the-top way, will players still find the iconic gameplay they’ve grown to love over the past 21 years? Yes. A resounding yes. The answer’s yes.
