Kukoos: Lost Pets

With all of that said, as the game went on, I did have some moments of fun — they were just sandwiched between a very cumbersome opening and finale. I made it through the whole game in under three hours, but for a 100% completionist ending, you are looking at closer to 8-12 hours. It’s a decent enough platformer if you enjoy the genre, but it just might be worth waiting for a good deal before grabbing it.

A Little to the Left
Unscored

Brimming with charm, A Little to the Left is a visual delight that is equally cute, clever, intuitive, and deeply satisfying — best enjoyed on a rainy day with a warm cup of tea in hand. Spanning over the course of roughly two and a half hours, A Little to the Left is the perfect accompaniment for your next quiet weekend at home.

Overall, I had a really wonderful time with Beacon Pines. Exploring one story to its fullest from a number of different perspectives felt fresh and engaging. I was compelled by the world and its characters and was eager to reach the heartfelt ending. It is a polished, delightful experience, and I look forward to whatever Hiding Spot has in store next.

There is a lot to love about Garden Story, despite its minor flaws. The wonderful work of Grahm Nesbitt on the delightful soundtrack and effects enhances Picogram’s charming art, design, and polished programming to create an experience that evokes a fun time of thrills and chills.

This game doesn’t do anything new, but it doesn’t need to. Omno’s delightful vibe, slick polish, and carefully crafted design make it a game worth experiencing, even if just to marvel at the cinematic wonder that can be achieved by a single developer. If Omno is the type of game that typically appeals to you, I can absolutely recommend that it is worth your time.

It’s ultimately a lovely experience that is, at its heart, a narrative game about two people. Getting to know them and explore their world is a delight that can be occasionally risque and cringy — but worth it for the enjoyable gameplay and sincere storytelling.

A Fold Apart
Unscored

A Fold Apart is roughly three hours in length, which, although short, is highly polished and tells the story that it wants to tell in a way that is truthful and fun. In a time when many of us know how it feels to be separated from our loved ones, A Fold Apart provides a wonderful catharsis that celebrates the highs and lows experienced in every relationship.

Iron Danger
Unscored

Iron Danger delivers on its promise to combine real-time and turn-based gameplay to create a time-bending mechanic that opens up new possibilities for the genre. Unfortunately, an engaging narrative does not accompany the polished combat. Nonetheless, players are still offered a strong gameplay experience that is easy to understand but challenging to perfect in the 12 or so hours of content.
