I never knew how badly I needed a game like this
I feel transported back to when I was ten years old. It’s 1992, and Terminator 2 is dominating the movie scene. I’m visiting Salisbury Beach and hitting up the arcades with twenty dollars’ worth of quarters. Terminator 2D: NO FATE feels plucked directly from that era. It looks, feels, sounds, and plays exactly how I remember arcade machines of the time. It also frustrates in similar ways, and it’s all intentional.
In the last city on earth, the only known inhabitants are terrified to go to sleep. The HUSH will come, leaving behind nothing but an echo of their pain. This city, The Crush, is ruled by a malevolent group hellbent on rooting out all whom they call heretics. You are Katja, the last member of your family, desperately trying to survive by using concoctions you brew to stave off sleep. Everyone must sleep, eventually. Over the course of four hours in SLEEP AWAKE, Katja will fight to survive, un...

James Sunderland really loved his wife. He loved her so much that it smothered him when she died. Grief, doubt, and a calling to visit SILENT HILL consumed him. Finally arriving on Xbox, 2024’s excellent remake of the PS2 classic by Bloober Team is here and in the best shape I’ve seen yet. Running at a near-flawless, damned good-looking 60fps in performance mode, this is the best version of the game on consoles. So pack your car, put on your green jacket, and take a trip to everyone’s f...

Monsters Are Coming! Rock and Road is hitting Xbox Game Pass for PC as the latest rogue-lite to hit the service. The selling point on this one is resource gathering! That’s right, you’ve got a mobile city trying to get to a safe destination, and your hero will chop wood and gather stones as it automatically wheels its way down the screen. It’s a fun concept with just enough content to keep things feeling fresh before they get too dull.

Now and then, a game comes out of nowhere and grabs you by the ghoulies. It wraps itself around your brain, and all you want to do is play just a little bit longer. Voidtrain, which has been in early access since August 2021, got its hooks into me. For 25 hours, I dove into the void, gathered resources while fighting off foes, and built a train that took me through one hell of a journey.
PowerWash Simulator 2 takes the idiom “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” and dials it up to 11. This is a bigger, prettier, easier to play sequel that’s coming Day One to Xbox Game Pass. I’ve played it across PC and Xbox’s Ally handheld, sorry no early Xbox console code was available, and I loved every moment. It’s a content-rich rich clean-a-thon that’s better with friends, and easier than ever to play with them.
