Rise of the Tomb Raider

2013’s Tomb Raider reboot was a huge success, so much so that it was a little worrisome whether or not such a great game could actually have a sequel even half as good. The franchise was turned on its head with an almost entirely new direction, both in terms of artistic vision and narration style. Lara's new origin story was full of emotional climaxes and it had some very fun gameplay elements, too. Sure, it had its flaws, but it also set a very high bar for future installments.

The Park is a grand thematic narrative adventure, or walking simulator, that blends point and click with the first person, letting you explore the world from a perspective that could be far more personal, interactive and well-suited to the horror motif at play here. The setting is certainly rife with the classic horror elements you’d want. A dark autumn evening while running through a theme park looking for your lost child, who seems to never quite be within reach.

Armikrog is a unique and special game. It really brings back memories of those children’s specific games you might see younger siblings playing in browsers, with overly simplistic design elements designed to foster a feeling of accomplishment no matter what you do. But Armikrog is more than just a silly representation of someone’s IP to help kids learn.
