Pillars of Eternity's port to the Switch is a great port indeed. It brings the modern classic to the handheld scene for on the go awesomeness. The only lacking feature of this entire release is the controls. Had they included touch capabilities, it would have set it far apart from the other console releases. As it stands now, the mediocre controls truly hinder the game itself. Yet at the same time, the core gameplay is still there, and it's still awesome. While the controls are flawed, it's s...

Wolfenstein Youngblood is a spinoff of Wolfenstein New Colossus. Like Old Blood, it ditches the in depth story in favor of gunplay and carnage. The core gameplay simply outweighs the story by a large margin. Good graphics and gunplay can only carry your game so far. Fans of the series like it for the story, not the gameplay alone, and thus will likely be as disappointed as I was.

Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble is an Advance War inspired turn-based tactics game. Boasting nice graphics and soundtrack, but forgettable story and poor controls. While the game has it's moments in the sun, the issues with the controls truly kill the fun for me. With a lacking story, if controls are an issue, what fun is there to be had? Then there's the ethical issues behind the company itself, but I'll leave that to you to decide.

Atelier Lulua is a fun game to play in small spurts. It combines crafting/gathering with a decent JRPG combat system. While crafting and gathering can be tedious at times, the general concept is pretty fun. Discovering new ways to create better items is where the real fun lies. If you're looking for a game with a meaty story to it, you should look elsewhere. If you can overlook the story, and play simply for the mechanics, Lulua brings a lot to the table. The game is genuinely fun for the ...

Book of Demons brings pen and paper and action mechanics to the Diablo style gameplay system. It's unique approach to time management on quests gives a lot to the game for those of us with limited time. If you're a Diablo fan looking for a change of scenery, you might find Book of Demons to be right up your alley!

Overall, the game is extremely enjoyable and addicting.  The story is fantastic and the general gameplay mechanics just work.  I have a hard time finding anything wrong with the game. It has its flaws, as every game does, but it’s very small things that most people wouldn’t care about.  If you were a fan of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, or JRPG’s in general, you will not be disappointed with this game!  This is the first title in a while that took my attention and held it fi...

The combat directional rose I spoke of earlier has its quirks.  To do combos, you have to quickly switch stances to different directions.  It’s very sensitive in that regard.  I’ve had a hard time getting used to it because I would use one direction and try to get in another direction it ends up going up or down and I miss my combo.  I think it needs a little improvement, shouldn’t be as sensitive to movement as it is. The animations could use some work.  While they aren’t bad, ...

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a great game.  If you’re a fan of the series, this is a great addition to the family.  If you’ve never played the rebooted series before, I would recommend starting with Wolfenstein: The New Order, if you don’t you won’t be able to follow the story very well at all.  While Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus has its flaws, I think it’s a definite buy.

Total War: Warhammer

Total War: Warhammer 2 has taken the original Total War: Warhammer and fixed a lot of the issues that people complained about. It’s breathed fresh life into the series and in my opinion possibly made the best entry into the series to date.  It’s beautiful, hard, and fun.  The new gameplay mechanics bring Total War into a higher realm of gameplay that makes you ask “Why didn’t they do this before?” This is something that I could get lost in, and sink in hundreds of hours into witho...
