Overall The Hong Kong Massacre is a fun game that definitely delivers in the feel of those Hong Kong action movies. But input lag with controls and repetitive levels take away from it. More weapons or weapon choices that actually seemed to matter would’ve helped the game as well. If you like this type of game, in this setting and don’t mind a few issues it’s worth the buy at its budget price.
On their own, each of the above could make for a decent game, but combined they make a whole which brings home the feeling of what the Yakuza series is. Sprinkle that with incredible voice acting and a rocking soundtrack that really kicks it into high gear during fight scenes and you have the perfect entry to the Yakuza series on PC for anyone who is curious about it. House Flipper may not be the usual game you would expect, but games, in general, have evolved greatly over the last decade, to say the least. After the combat, the multiplayer and the story are the next big thing in the game. You can play offline and not encounter anyone, just going through the story of Absolver to fin d your place in the world. Or set it to online and see what happens.
