Professional reviews from gaming critics
Critter Café combines café management and puzzle solving into a delightful combination. You have lots of critters to rescue and a café to decorate as you wish. The game does stumble over itself in some areas such as café operations, becoming less relaxing overtime. Give the game a chance and it will grow on you, delivering a soothing experience that heals your heart.
Critter Café is very cute and cosy, perfect for a younger demographic, but there isn’t that much substance to it that made its 12+ playtime all that engaging.
Critter Café is a visually charming cosy game ranging from play that is casual to heavily engaging. While the world is not full of excitement or depth it has moments of charm through its environmental puzzles and the unique designs of its critters.
Lately, there have been a handful of cozy games moving past the farming sim and leaning towards hospitality and the food service industry. One of those games is Critter Café by Sumo Digital. In this indie title, not only do you get to run your own café, but you’ll also embark on a quest to save some critters. But will this game be able to stand out from its competition?
Critter Café has lots of great ideas, but none of them really gel together all that well. Working in your café is tiresome, and while the puzzles involved in rescuing critters are fulfilling, the critters themselves have little purpose other than being cute. It all feels like a wasted opportunity.
