Fae Farm

Fae Farm is by far my favourite all-around simulator to date. With its cute style, creative creatures and special attention to what players want from their sim games, Phoenix Labs has delivered an outstanding title.

Fae Farm is probably some of the most fun I've had with a life simulator once I accepted it for what it was. If socialising and role-playing is very important to you in a game, maybe skip this one!

If you've been looking for a farming sim that mixes fantastical elements into the core gameplay then you'll be super-happy with Fae Farm.

Fae Farm is a wonderful multiplayer farming simulator that runs extremely well on the Steam Deck.

Fae Farm, developed by Phoenix Labs, is the latest farming sim to enter the market and, while it has its flaws, the game does an excellent job of standing out in a crowded market. September 2023 is a month filled with similar releases, from Paleo Pines to Harvest Moon. The newest fairy farming game needs to work to hold its own, and honestly, I think it does.

The more you put into Fae Farm, the more you’ll get out of it. This is a delightful entry into the farming sim genre, offering a wonderful, magical world that begs to be explored, and an endless list of things to do. Whether you want to simply tend to your crops or hunt down every secret that Azoria holds, you’ve got dozens of hours of gameplay to look forward to here.

Fae Farm improves the genre with innovations in farming mechanics, but a number of questionable design decisions stops it from being a truly great game.

When playing Fae Farm solo, it's a fun story in a cute world filled with magic and connections. There are a lot of moving parts, but I think they do a good job of easing into them. It does leave a little desire for more clothing and hair customizations and playing multiplayer means starting a whole new world. But overall, it was definitely worth playing and something I'll pick up again.

Fae Farm has some weak points that need a little more fairy dust to truly fly, but there are still some great things to love about this farming sim.

In its quest for coziness, Fae Farm seems to want to put up a barrier between you and any emotions at all. There’s no fear, challenge, or heartache to be had here, but similarly, there’s no joy or triumph. What should be an escapist fantasy instead feels more like emotional escapism.

Fae Farm is an incredibly cute cosy game that makes for a great title to play alone, and while we didn’t have the opportunity to play multiplayer, we’d wager it’s even better when exploring with others, too.
