Front Mission 3: Remake

Front Mission 3 Remake is a fantastic strategy JRPG. It has excellent combat, and deep mech customization, led by an engrossing story. It’s easy to get sucked into the conflict of the Front Mission world. And that early choice leading to different narratives truly shocked me. I had no idea! The game does have some visual oddities and too much framerate stutter in its cutscenes, but I would still say Front Mission 3 Remake is a must-play for fans of strategy JRPGs.

One of my absolute favourite SRPGs has returned thanks to FRONT MISSION 3: Remake so let's see how it holds up to the epic original.

Whatever political upheavals may hit the world, and however dangerous things become, we can remain at ease. That is because giant robots are there to save the day by blowing up stuff real good. Pistols blow down trees!

The branching narrative of Front Mission 3: Remake is the strongest of the series for me and kept me engaged with it long after I had grown frustrated with the combat system. The new music is solid, but also highlights some of the older sound effects that haven't been updated. And, to top it all off, the new artwork for the Switch port is bafflingly bad and gives strong AI-generated vibes, making this feel like a rushed, half-finished remake of a beloved tactical RPG.

Front Mission 3 is an excellent game about giant mechas battling out in a modernized geopolitical setting. If only the same could be said for Front Mission 3: Remake.

Back to the Future Part III was a mistake. There, I said it. It is the worst way to end the trilogy and the one saving grace is that it’s iconic enough in its stupidity to be remembered fondly by children who were impressionable at the time. No matter which way you slice it, the changes to the dynamics of Doc and Marty’s relationship, the shoestring science that justifies every invention, and the wrapup that basically was a soft launch for the insane Saturday morning cartoon were all poor...
