Full Metal Furies Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for a well-done brawler, one that embraces the genre’s roots but also carries its own unique gameplay. I found Full Metal Furies satisfied that criteria, but I wasn’t expecting anything less from the creators of Rogue Legacy. When playing the campaign, there’s a short introduction to set the motivation why you’re fighting hordes of enemies, then it’s straight into the action: just like a good brawler should.
Full Metal Furies surprised me in just how diverse the gameplay could get in a brawler/shooter hybrid. Some experiments don’t come off, but upgrades change character play styles nicely and the game is a joy to play with others. The teething problems that online play is suffering do make it hard to recommend for those with online co-op in mind, but once it’s all fixed or if you plan to play locally, Full Metal Furies is a decent way to spend a couple of evenings worth of co-op brawling action.
Full Metal Furies works best as a local multiplayer game, but the developer makes a solid attempt at serving more common play styles by offering up a suitable online experience and a competent single-player alternative. This game is a much harder sell if you’re only ever going to play it by yourself, but it’s easy one if you have a few friends that want to mess around in a bright and lovely world with cute characters and a solid brawler with some light RPG upgrades.
