Kill It With Fire Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Kill It With Fire is a great title, whether you love those eight-legged arachnids or you’re terrified of them. Being able to burn them alive, hit them with frying pans or shoot them with a shotgun is both satisfying and fun. It’s also very easy to pick up and play, so it’s something that everyone can enjoy. Go on – finally get revenge on those spiders that have terrorised your home for so long.
Representing some of the most fun I have had with my PlayStation VR2 headset since launch, though Kill It With Fire VR is a touch too short, what we have here is nonetheless a hugely entertaining morsel of VR gaming that deftly blends a real-life fear of arachnids with a corresponding range of increasingly deranged methods to deal with them. Easy to play and resoundingly suitable for VR newcomers, Kill It With Fire VR is a whole heap of welcome chaotic fun.
Whilst Kill it With Fire is a short experience, there’s still enough here to justify the budget asking price. It’s the kind of game that you’re unlikely to return to after having completed it, but you probably already expected that. It might not have the legs to be an epic saga, but if you want a few hours of silly enjoyment then you could do a lot worse than picking up this game.
Arachnophobes beware; you’re in for a scare in Kill It With Fire! Exterminate waves of creepy crawly spiders with an arsenal of unconventional extermination equipment across eight levels and Arachno-Gauntlets. But is the game eight legs of fun or a tangled web of disappointment?
It may be very short, but Kill It with Fire is creative and entertaining all the same. I'll never look at a frying pan the same way again.
What happens when you take an internet meme and try to turn it into a full game? You get Kill it With Fire, which is exactly what it sounds like. Whilst there is some potential for a good game here, this one is way off the mark.
I will give Kill It With Fire credit for running smoothly on my PC and being a bug-free (groan) experience from the start to finish of its uncommonly short run time. The one fear-inducing music cue it uses repeatedly was worth a half-chuckle the first time I heard it, so I will give credit there. I don’t feel like there is anything here I can recommend to players unless they are deathly afraid of spiders or want to fake scream for a livestream show or two. The spiders can’t even hurt you, so the stakes here are literally zero for those not already stricken with bug phobia. 3/10 cans of Raid
