Len's Island Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Len’s Island is quite good in a subtle way, taking its time to make you appreciate its mechanics and world. It rewards those who take their time, explore the land, and prepare for whatever the darkness may throw at you.
There’s nothing I hate more than a video game that wastes my time. Len's Island is guilty of that sin. Like any game so steeped in its own genre that it loses the forest for the trees, Len’s Island assumes you know how to play it and refuses to do the more than the bare minimum to give you something to accomplish. It’s not a bad game, but I wish I enjoyed my time with it more than I did.
It's hard to see Len's Island as anything but a low quality effort to get a toehold in the survival-crafter genre. Non-existent narrative, actively hostile character progression, and a likely unoptimized graphics engine destroy any ease of use or enjoyment one might accidentally find.
