Life is Strange 2 is a worthy entry in the narrative series that improves upon the first game in meaningful ways with a story that's both thrilling and emotional. The gameplay hasn't changed much and we'd argue that some areas have a few too many objects to interact with, but the dialogue choices remain just as fun as ever. Bar some annoying load times on Switch and some visual hiccups, Life is Strange 2 is definitely worth picking up if you're a fan of narrative adventures.

It feels like LIFE IS STRANGE 2 has been releasing slowly over the course of, excuse the pun, a lifetime. The first installment debuted in September 2018 and each progressive episode has trickled out many months after, killing the pacing and failing to spark a conversation along the way; two key failings of an episodic game. But now the full season is out and while that inherently solves some of the pacing issues, it hasn’t magically fixed the problems baked into the core experience.

Sean and Daniel's relationship truly resonated with me, and I'm sure due to its perfect encapsulation of that sibling relationship, it'll resonate with many many others in the same way. Life Is Strange 2 isn't some pleasant walk in the park, but a perilous slog across the country, staring adversity in the face and overcoming it in search of freedom and a fresh start. It's not always comfortable to watch, but it's a journey well worth taking for fans of the series, and narrative-driven experiences in general.

As a story of family, specifically one of two brothers out to fend for themselves in a world that's out to get them, Life is Strange 2 is outstanding. It's a story that's helped greatly by some powerful performances by the game's voice cast, able to give weight to some of the story's more emotional moments and even able to make the most out of some of the cheesier dialogue. The art also feels like a big improvement over the first Life is Strange, which sometimes felt hampered by lifeless animations. There are a few instances where the animation looks...

Life is Strange 2 isn’t re-writing DONTNOD’s rulebook when it comes to gameplay, but the tale being told this time around is a far bigger statement than their last. And it’s only just begun.

Life is Strange 2: Episode one is a good start to an interesting adventure. The beginning is terrible and the political statements feel forced, but the dynamic relationship between Sean and Daniel is relatable and enjoyable. Episode one has flaws, but I’m excited to see what happens next.
