Mexican Ninja has some readability issues in combat, but it makes up for it with fast-paced action, crass-but-clever writing, and an overall incredible setting. You won’t be disappointed by this all-around solid entry into the genre.

Review: A mix of the roguelike and side-scrolling beat 'em up genres, Mexican Ninja is a fun experience let down by a lack of polish.
Mexican Ninja is an accessible, fast-paced brawler loop wrapped in an eccentric premise, but it ultimately lacks a distinct soul to hold your interest for long. The serviceable audio design – combined with language-heavy humor that misses the mark if you do not understand Spanish – leave the overall package feeling generic. Rather than building depth around its sombrero-wearing protagonist through a proper story-driven campaign, the title settles into a routine roguelike structure that wears out its welcome.
