One Finger Death Punch 2 Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
One Finger Death Punch 2 manages to take a simplistic gameplay system and turn it into one of the most bizarrely addictive score chasers I've ever played.
Nevertheless, as it stands, One Finger Death Punch is an enormously generous and exhilarating combat game - one whose capacity for expression and mastery is far broader than its simplistic appearance suggests.
One Finger Death Punch 2 is a deep, rhythmic fighting game that attempts to replicate the feel of classic kung fu movies.
It provides the sort of addictive gameplay loop that you think you’ll get bored of after 10 minutes – yet four hours later you’re still there, continuing to decimate stick men with a huge grin on your face. Seriously, One Finger Death Punch 2 is a hell of a lot more fun than it has any right to be. And for such a cheap price, there’s absolutely no reason to not give it a go. And if you don’t believe me, there’s a free demo available on Steam to take it for a spin yourself.
Silver Dollar Games has wholeheartedly delivered on the promise of the original and managed to outdo my expectations spectacularly. One Finger Death Punch 2 is everything I love about the series turned up to 11, and it’s a fantastic example of how minimalist design can effectively carry a game, even when pared down to just two simple inputs.
One Finger Death Punch 2 is as fully realised as it can be. It's taken the concept of a two button action game and wrung every last drop out of the concept. What results is a game that is hilariously fun, yet heart pounding at its most intense. It's repetitive, sure, but incredibly playable and varied enough that things are just fresh enough to keep you thinking "just one more go."
Despite its name being a clear nod to the metal band whose punches use four more fingers, One Finger Death Punch 2 couldn’t have been more different from them. When I first watched the trailer for this game, I was wondering what the hell was happening onscreen. It looked like the most confusing mess in gaming history, yet I was captivated by how silly it looked (and also because of the kung fu). Now that I have finally played it for hours on end, I can definitely say that yes this is even s...
Everything you need to know about One Finger Death Punch 2 is in its title. It’s played with only one finger, there’s a ton of death and punching going on, and it’s a sequel. That simplicity extends to the entire package and the game never wastes your time thanks to super-fast load screens and a ludicrously easy two-button control scheme. More importantly, OFDP2 is insane fun, boasting super smooth gameplay and ridiculous, over-the-top animation. It’s not a huge leap from the first game but since the original isn’t on Switch, it’s the perfect side dish to bite into after finishing other bigger...
