PixARK is a gorgeous-looking game that mainly caters to casual players that are already familiar with Minecraft and ARK: Survival Evolved.
PixArk doesn’t have an identity of its own, but it doesn’t do a great job of impersonating Minecraft or Ark either. It’s managed to capture just about every feature, good and bad, but there’s not a lick of cohesion; even the art style frequently ditches cubes. Pick a style! I take 20 minutes to fill up a bag of Pick 'n' Mix, so the hypocrisy isn’t lost on me, but sometimes a choice has to be made. And it should probably be fizzy cola bottles.
PixARK is Snail Games’ anticipated release offering a pixelated version of the much-loved survival game ARK. Snail Digital did not actually develop the original ARK: Survival Evolved game, but was actually utilized to create this version of the game by developers Studio Wildcard. It features over 100 dinosaur species – some friendlier than...
Overall, PixArk is a very graphically friendly version of Ark, and it is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. It is available now for $24.99 USD, which is a good price for someone that doesn’t want to pay too much money for a new version of a game they already have. If you are down with pixelated Ark then go for it and spend the money. I feel it was a very fun port of a game that I spent a little bit of time with.
