Simon the Sorcerer: The Search for More Money.
Simon the Sorcerer Origins is finally here and point-and-click adventure fans will find a lot to love so put on your wizard hat and let's go.
Unlike most video game players who grew up on systems like the SNES, the SEGA Megadrive or the original PlayStation, my path into gaming was slightly different. My very first video game system was the BBC Micro, (yes, I’m that old!) but my first true love was my Amiga 600+. That being said, Simon the Sorcerer: Origins is a solid return for a beloved series, and the developers at Smallthing Studios seem more than capable of carrying on these magical adventures.
Simon the Sorcerer Origins looks fantastic, its writing is brilliant and its voice acting (particularly Chris Barrie) is absolutely stellar. It's a great example of a modern point-and-click game — but it's let down by some frustratingly difficult puzzles. It sorely needs a built-in hint system, but hey, at least you can just look up a guide.

Simon The Sorcerer Origins is a game which some will love, and some will drop off of. However, in a time of re-releases with an extra 'episode' of content tacked on to the end, it's nice to get a full-blown new game in an old franchise. I hope the game does well enough to get a sequel/prequel/presequel so that they can take some more risks with the puzzles and potentially add in some help for those of us who didn't grow up with these types of adventures.
