Super Beat Sports Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
It's very rare to come across a multiplayer rhythm game that's actually enjoyable. Super Beat Sports features a simple yet satisfying collection of five games that you can play with friends so start tapping your toe and let's check it out!
Based on the Apple TV game Beat Sports, which pitted players against rhythm-loving aliens from the Muzicalian galaxy, Super Beat Sports is packed with additional content and exclusive features.
While not offering too much from the Apple TV entry, Super Beat Sports is a serviceable rhythm party game. Its simple controls and infectious soundtrack will have you tapping your toes, but a couple of games in the collection might be a bit disappointing to play with friends.
Rhythm games are built on a tantalizing cycle of rewards and escalating challenge. Your success is often accompanied by bright, colorful and infectious displays that invite you to continue. Super Beat Sports builds on this idea so beautifully, it’s downright tragic there isn’t more game to get into.
Super Beat Sports is a fun, but overall very simple compilation of games. While many of the modes have multiple single-player challenges to complete, they quickly become repetitive and are missing the charm, range, and cleverness that you might find in a Rhythm Heaven game. This mini-game collection is best when played with friends and family who want to test their reflexes in a musical fashion. It might not be a game you play a lot, but it can provide an hour of fun when you have company over.
Super Beat Sports only really contains one game mode that is really worth playing, with the other four falling between "okay" and "boring".
