Professional reviews from gaming critics

Preparing to write a review for Ten Dates was challenging. This was primarily because it didn't feel like I was playing a game, but rather a mini-series followi

Ten Dates might be one of our favourite FMVs to date. It’s sweet, it’s fun, and it’s packed with larger-than-life characters that we had an absolute blast getting to know. One playthrough may be short, but it makes for the perfect interactive rom-com to cosy up with. If you enjoyed Five Dates, this sequel is a no-brainer: it’s bigger and better in every way.

Ten Dates provides a great insight into the possibilities that can emerge from speed dating. It does a great job covering all the emotions in the dating process and all the results. Some of the magic is lost if you are trying to uncover everything, but there’s a great story wherever you look.

Although the writing and characters aren't all great across the board, Ten Dates is a surprisingly engaging experience filled with lots of fantastic acting, plenty of content, and some tight editing.

Ten Dates breaks away from the confines of its predecessor and emerges as a genuinely interesting interactive date movie by way of a reality show.

Ten Dates does many things well.  For a reasonably cheap title, it has a high-quality look to it, the acting is at the same level as I would expect from a television drama and the gameplay is very inclusive.  Interactive movie games have come a long way in the last couple of years and this one is no exception.  Of course, it is no ‘Immortality’ but that game has to be considered the zenith of this genre.  It may overstay its welcome in the end, but fans of the first game will have a lot of fun playing this.  Are Twenty Dates on the horizon?  Only time will tell.

Wales Interactive is an odd goose in today’s gaming industry. Despite dabbling with some survival horror games every now and then, the company has carved an interesting niche by heavily focusing on FMV-based adventure titles, which are essentially interactive movies where all you really need to do is pick up an option and watch your decisions unfold. Their games have never been outright terrible, but they have never managed to stand out more than being just novelty titles released once a ye...

They make you sweat, over-think, change your outfit multiple times and contemplate just staying in with your dog and Netflix instead. First dates are either adored or hated, and for obvious reasons – they can be absolutely terrifying! Ten Dates is your way to live vicariously through a young Londonite as they embark on a series of dates. This FMV is the sequel to the 2020 Five Dates, which focused on digital dating during Covid-19. This time, the dates take place in a speed dating arena in ...
