The Library of Babel Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
All in all, it was an entertaining game. There were some secrets I didn't unlock in the end that might unlock something remarkable. But if something requires me to comb every path for hidden secrets and get 500 points in Flappy Drone, I'd rather watch someone else do it on YouTube than spend my own time on it. So the rating is 7/10. A good game but needs a lot of polishing to be really good.
The Library of Babel takes its short story inspirations and runs, crafting a compelling, strange sci-fi world that isn’t always as fun to explore as it is to read about, or just simply vibe in.
The Library of Babel is a gorgeous and fantastic narrative-driven stealth game and luckily, it runs fantastic on the Steam Deck with no changes!
I was saddened by how frustrating The Library of Babel would become considering its stellar beginning. The game is set 20,000 years after the extinction of humankind, and it'll feel like you're waiting that long to get through some segments.Read More
Library of Babel is full of beautiful art, excellent worldbuilding, and a story worth telling. Unfortunately, poorly designed platforming and boring stealth segments make up the majority of the gameplay, putting a damper on an experience that was clearly a labor of love.
