The Sinking City 2 delivers strong Lovecraftian atmosphere, impressive visuals, and satisfying survival horror mechanics, but its momentum falters in the latter half. Repetitive enemies, frequent encounters, and forced evasion undermine the otherwise engaging combat and exploration, leaving a promising sequel that falls short of its excellent opening.

The Sinking City 2 is difficult and pushes you to your limits. Yet every time it sings and embraces the incomprehensible Lovecraftian nightmares, Faye and Calvin’s story brings it all down.

While there is something special brewing in The Sinking City 2, the development team simply needed more time with this release.
