Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
When all is said and done, I enjoyed this new adventure in the frozen land of Colorado. The challenging combat, choice-driven narrative, and fun humor are hitting on all cylinders in Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown. If you enjoyed the gameplay of the original release, I can easily recommend checking this out.
Ever since its very beginnings, the Wasteland series stood out from the competition with its crazy world, great writing, and solid gameplay, but it's only with Wasteland 3 that the series literally took off, presenting an amazing role-playing game experience that all fans of the genre should not miss for any reason. Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown has a few notable flaws, and it's also a fairly short romp. However, there's enough content and tactical depth to make you want to keep adventuring in this post-apocalyptic landscape.
Wasteland 3 is back with its first DLC: The Battle of Steeltown. Centered around a factory city responsible for creating most of Colorado’s weapons and tech, your team is sent to investigate when the goods stop coming. Thrust into a dispute between the overworked employees and the stressed managers trying to produce enough weapons to keep Colorado safe from the raider armies, it’s up to you to decide how Steeltown will get up and running again.
While more Wasteland 3 is a good thing, Steel Town feels like a good concept that never quite gets going. Ultimately, when all is said and done, there’s little to distinguish this as a new story to experience, feeling more like ideas and side quests bundled together as added fluff.
