We Are Doomed
"WE ARE DOOMED is a twin-stick shooter where you zap polygon baddies with an absurdly overpowered laserbeam. Dive head-first into the action with reckless ambition, charge the SUPERBEAM, and zap everything out of existence in an instant. Chase high scores or just enjoy the beautiful explosion of geometry, colour and light."

Professional reviews from gaming critics
You are a fuzzy eyeball flying around in space. You move with the Left stick, swimming like some sort of amoeba-alien. Strange things appear, flying straight towards you – are they aliens? Smart missiles? Possessed guppies? All you know is, they want to catch you. They want to hurt you. They are oddly beautiful but they are deadly, you know that instinctively. You must not let them get you. You must survive. There is no time for tutorials or practice stages – We Are Doomed throws you right into the thick of it without wasting any time.
We Are Doomed is a great, easy-going experience that can easily be picked up and played at any time. It boasts some beautiful visuals, feels smooth and polished, and while it doesn’t offer too much in terms of innovation for the genre, what it is doing is great. There isn’t a lot of content to explore, but what is here is a lot of fun. Check it out if you are interested.
The second (and final) mode is “Endless”, which as the name suggests, never ends. This mode is just designed to test how good you actually are at We Are Doomed, as doing well in Endless puts you on the online leaderboards and that’s the only result from it. Whilst it is quite enjoyable seeing how other players did and seeing what you can accomplish, the only incentive is to try and beat your previous record as the leaderboards change so rapidly you’ll quickly forget who you were drawing level with. Out of the two, I enjoyed “Waves” more although they do both become repetitive quite quickly, bu...
If you were to take Geometry Wars and TxK and produce a hybrid of them, you would most certainly end up with We Are Doomed. This twin-stick arcade shooter is another classic example of the 'easy to learn, hard to master' gameplay philosophy, and it's accompanied by explosive graphics, techno music, and a swarm of simplified enemies to take down from every angle. Essentially, that's all that there is to it – but does its lack of complexity belie an otherwise addictive hit, or will it leave you only shortly spellbound?
In the twin-stick shooter We Are Doomed, your enemies are shapes, not aliens or robots or alien-robots. The backgrounds are trippy, not gritty. The music is almost new-age, not hyper-kinetic. If we truly are doomed, it's a pretty relaxing way to go.Read More
We Are Doomed makes a good attempt at being a compelling and addictive twin-stick shooter, getting a lot of things right along the way. There are some problems with the basic design though and the very limited amount of modes on offer means that unless you're hooked by beating your own best scores or unlocking the limited (but tough to obtain) number of achievements, it'll be over way, way too soon.
