Even though it initially caused me real panic, Winter Burrow is still a cozy game at its core. You can take your time — winter sprawls infinitely and lazily across the land. While never-ending winter is more often than not an apocalyptic symbol, here it is a blanket. Snuggle in, steep some tea, and stay a while.

Winter Burrow is a pleasant experience with a sprinkling of challenge to manage, with good elements of survival, resource management, and cozy. The sum of its parts is adequate but I wish there was more for me to chew on with its mechanics, like more decoration options and varied quests.
A cute woodland survival game that looks like an illustrated children’s book but has a few too many rough edges to make full use of its charming setting.

I first came across Winter Burrow whilst watching the Xbox Showcase in June, and when the code came in to review it I jumped at the chance.
