I'll state the obvious first: If you enjoyed Dave the Diver, you'll enjoy this DLC. While the basic structure is "more of the same," the mechanics remain solid and fun. The sections in Utaru Village and the new characters are very welcome additions that give the game a sense of community where Dave finally gets the respect he deserves. Some of the new minigames and activities—mainly the turn-based combat—don't quite fit in. They're not necessarily bad, but they do disrupt the otherwise excellent pacing of the game.

Seldom is there an ounce of creativity wasted anywhere, from the moment you first enter Utaru village to the thrilling encounters in the furthest depths of the surrounding lake, the dangerous creatures of the jungle, and the mystery of what lies beyond all of it.
