To end, I rate. (in a semi-casual way) I give this game an 8/10. The Dragon Quest theme powered by the mechanics of a sandbox was beautifully melded into this game; pun intended. It is ideal for those who want to just sit, relax and have fun with a very colorful game. It offers a level of replayability through its challenges; but overall it is a fairly easy game, which can be a bad thing, I admit. Its focus on the story is what separates it from the genre, and overall offers a unique experience for everyone enjoy.
Gears of War 4 delivers on all that it had promised, a wonderful campaign with twist and turns, leavings us wanting. The multiplayer feels fresh and is worth playing to get better at for competitive modes; along with a horde mode that will test you but make you feel accomplished when it’s all finished. The Coalition has done a masterful job for its first outing with the Gears of War franchise and I can’t wait to see what it has in store for the future. Until then, killing swarm and trying to get that one skin I want will happily keep me busy.
The visuals in this game are some of the best the Xbox One has to offer. Each level is visually catching for its own reasons; whether you are on a planet with rain pouring heavily down on you or in a ship moving through the hallways slowly as you wait for enemies to be found, you can always stop, look around and appreciate the graphics. The CGI cutscenes between the levels are some of the best and it feels like you are watching a AAA movie and not a videogame. The voice acting is top notch, done by some of Hollywood’s best. Each character is voiced so well and moves so fluidly that you can feel their anger, pain, happiness and sorrow when they speak. That is something that the Halo series has always done well and continues to do well.
Shadow Warrior 2 doesn’t usually take itself too seriously with its dick jokes and outrageous story, which is the way this game should be. Don’t take this game seriously and you will have a wonderful time even if the dick jokes might get a little boring from time to time. With tons of replayability and multiplayer goodness for only $39.99, Shadow Warrior 2 is a great game to add to your collection this year. Hopefully Shadow Warrior 3 is being developed because Wang doesn’t seem to be finished yet.
Breach mode is to put in the simplest way possible a time attack version of the main game, with smaller stages and more confined and less beautiful locales. Most of the core gameplay from the main mode remains here though it is locked beneath what is to me a questionable system. The upgrade system of the mode takes the form of booster packs. These packs contain everything from weaponry and consumables, to new praxis kits or mission modifiers. In both the main game and breach mode SE has added micro-transactions into it. This is only for those who want to use money to get an edge of course as the game is perfectly fine without once dipping into those microtransactions. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is an excellent sequel to Human Revolution and one that any fan of stealth games should buy. 8.5/10
In conclusion, while the game has flaws most of which stem from a cluttering of systems being placed into the game. The immersive crafting experience and colorful characters still makes it an enjoyable experience. If the player doesn’t care much for combat and prefers a crafting experience Sophie will be a truly good title to have in one’s library.
Should you buy this game on Steam? Considering the amount of work that has been put into making the game accessible, functional, and more visually appealing, it’s an easy recommendation to make. Not to mention, having an electronic copy always available eliminates the needs to buy more copies when your physical media wears out.
Overwatch is just absolutely amazing. Everything that makes the game is just perfectly done. From the voices of the heroes, to the places, to the amazing shorts they released and oh so teased to the fans, to just everything, Overwatch did a fantastic and perfect job, from keeping up the hype, to actually giving the game. The game may have just started, but there is still so much room for improvement and I’m really looking forward to these improvements Blizzard is going to implement. Great job, Blizzard, you’ve done it again.
Far Cry Primal, however, falls flat in some aspects. The story is remarkably simple and the characters aren’t that engaging. Though credit to the makers in developing a unique culture and language for your protagonist. The game’s lacking variety means there isn’t much of a learning curve after the initial few hours your style may become set and this sets you up for the entire game. And there isn’t ever much of a need to change your style afterwards. These flaws however do not take away from the game being enjoyable. It’s a solid experience well worth investing a few hours into. Hearing a sabertooth’s roar early in the game feels terrifying as your character at the time would still be incapable of handling an attack from one.
Victor Vran is a great game to kill-time — since you have to keep on dodging, attacking, picking up loots, activating regeneration statues and the sort — and is really fun once you get the hang of it. It’s got a lot of potential, too. Maybe balancing out the scaling system would be great. Graphics is solid, really made an impression on me. The fun and challenging aspect of Victor Vran covers what seemed to lack in its narrative.
